3 Tips to Love Your Equestrian Style

3 Tips to Love Your Equestrian Style

With the new year approaching it's a perfect time to organise your equestrian wardrobe and prepare for the season ahead. Here are three questions to ask yourself as you go through each item to ensure you love your equestrian style and determine what you need moving forward.

1. Is it comfortable?

This may seem so obvious but so many of us continue to make do and keep wearing riding wear which isn't as comfortable as it could be. Riding wear has advanced significantly, offering moisture-wicking fabric with four-way stretch, improved silhouettes, and technical details. You no longer have to settle for breeches or jodhpurs that constantly fall down, ride up, or overheat you.

2. Does it suit your lifestyle?

Make sure your equestrian clothing is practical for whatever your day may bring. If you’re cleaning stables, lifting bales of hay, and spending your weekends with your horses, you need quality garments that can withstand your equestrian needs. So consider the activities you spend most of your time doing. Do you have enough everyday outfits, or is your riding wardrobe full of competition clothing that you hardly wear?

3. Does it feel like you?

We all change and evolve, from varying body shapes and sizes to style preferences. Riding clothing you bought a couple of years ago might not feel like you anymore, perhaps due to a low-rise waist or loud branding. It’s okay to replace those pieces with riding wear that meets you where you are now.

Embracing your equestrian style is about more than just looking the part - it's about comfort, practicality and authenticity. By ensuring your riding wear is a true reflection of who you are and meets the demands of your lifestyle, you set the stage for both style and functionality.

As you refresh your wardrobe for the coming season, remember that your riding wear should evolve with you, becoming an empowering aspect of your equestrian journey. It’s not just about what others see, but how you feel in every ride, every stable chore, and every moment in between. Happy riding!
